..."and it happened too fast to make sense of it...to make it last" --table for glasses
Formed in Eric's cold garage in late 1999 as Colorbind by then grunge/punk afficionado, Chris Fleming, the band has always had something special. The original line up consisted of Eric on drums, Robert on vocals and guitar and Chris on guitar. Started on grunge and punk classics like every other band at the time. Within three months Eric's cousin, Alex, joined on guitar as Chris moved to bass. Within a month Chris and Alex both left. Unsure what to do, the two remaining members kept playing all summer, still covering with a few originals while Evan Roy, long time friend, sat at home playing guitar for himself. At the end of the summer it was time to recruit. Evan seemed the only logical choice, and he was accepted after one practice. School is in session in August like always and the boys were sure they could find someone to play bass, although at that point they had never actually had a "bass player" per ce. Ryan Gallagher was the first and only audition. Building up songs with a basic sound that in the eyes of fans as "uncategorizable" Colorblind always had a refreshing sound. By November, Colorblind was playing in Deep Ellum consistently. Time passed and songs improved and songs matured musically and lyrically, and people noticed. From that point the band, and fans could tell that they had something different and special.
"All I ever wanted is for people to like the band, have fun doing it" --Robert.
Now that Ryan is out and Aaron is in the band has breathed new life into the band. Dropping all but six songs and renamed it The Mayfaire's End...with the end result being a new catalog of the band they are comfortable being. Saying all that to say that it took three years for this band to find a sound, but now that they've found it the sky is the limit. Seeing no reason to stop, The Mayfaire's End, finally have fans, fun and good songs, which is all they ever wanted. Why stop a good thing?
